In 2018, Jamie Hamilton was searching for a place to bring his compost.  Two years later, he is humbled to be President of the Solano Canyon Community Garden.  To him, the farm is a great teacher. It is really a healing place.

Jamie used to suffer from chronic digestive disease and anxiety.  “I had an actual medical transformation where this disease has improved tremendously.”  The garden transformed his diet and his state of mind.

“There are so many living organisms.  The symphony of all of that lets you just slow down a little bit because you realize, ‘I'm not in control, I'm just a facilitator of some realm of things.’"

Even so, Jamie has bold ambitions for the garden.  “I would love for it to become a locus point of knowledge of soil, plant and plant medicines, nutrition and food making - open to basically anyone to come in, to learn and to take food away no matter what your economic situation is.”
